Asphalt Materials, Inc. and J-Band along with Heritage Research Group Lab hosted an event for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Young Members Group on January 15, 2025. This event included a learning session titled, “Innovative Materials + Strategies for Pavement Preservation” with a guided tour and networking opportunities.
Co-hosted by AMI Specialty Products Area Manager, Tim Zahrn, and Heritage Research Group (HRG) Pavement Research Senior Engineer, Zach Robinson, the event was a great opportunity for these young professionals to learn more about The Heritage Group (THG) and our family of companies that work together to develop the latest in pavement preservation techniques.
The educational portion of the event focused on preservation techniques that could be applied early in pavement life to proactively extend the life of asphalt pavements. From pre-preservation products like Void Reducing Asphalt Membrane (VRAM), J-Band®, to end of life treatments full depth reclamation and cold recycling, this learning session painted a full picture of treatments that can maximize the functionality of asphalt pavements.
“It was incredibly rewarding to share insights with this engaged group of engineers on how AMI’s specialty and performance products, supported by HRG, extend the life of pavements through sustainable asphalt preservation,” said Zahrn.
Guided tours of the HRG Labs were also offered, where attendees could learn more about the labs’ various roles in functions such as product testing, asphalt identification and formulation research.
