We are pleased to announce the promotion of Mitch Kovalsky to Senior Project Engineer in the AMI Capital Project Engineering Group. In this role, Mitch will continue to lead projects critical to our business operation while supporting implementation of the overall capital plan.

Mitch graduated from Purdue University in 2018 as a Chemical Engineer and joined AMI as a Lab Tech at the Indianapolis Plant. Shortly after, in March of 2019, he joined the engineering team as a Project Engineer.

During his time with AMI, Mitch has implemented solutions to a wide range of problems and projects across our operating network. He has accepted new challenges and has worked relentlessly to find the best outcomes for our projects while growing his knowledge and capabilities. Mitch has demonstrated a strong passion for examining the requirements of our plants and has excelled at finding creative and unique resolutions that best fit each situation. Some of Mitch’s past work includes the overall design and implementation of several in-line blend projects, including the Oregon cut back blender and an in-line blend additive at Mt Vernon.

He also led the hydraulic analysis and controls design for the Saline Ct. expansion and was a critical factor in the successful completion and start-up of the project. Mitch most recently completed automation projects for our emulsion mill process at both Indianapolis and Tama.

In addition to these critical projects, Mitch has been an excellent team member supporting the engineering team in all capacities asked of him, including managing the CER workflow and documenting field erect tank standards.

Let us all congratulate Mitch on this huge accomplishment!
