Asphalt Materials, Inc. has a long-standing history of supporting efforts that strengthen the communities where we live and work. While our core mission is building longer-lasting, safer infrastructure, our commitment goes beyond the materials we make. Our teams demonstrate that when our neighbors need us, we show up. This year was no exception. As AMI employees across multiple locations embraced opportunities to serve, they tailored their efforts to meet the unique needs of each community.
Through The Heritage Group’s annual United for Service week, each AMI location rolled up their sleeves and found their own ways to make an impact.

In Indianapolis, volunteers spent time at Gleaners Food Bank, helping ensure families had meals on their tables for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.

The Cicero, IL and Portage, WI, teams both stocked local food pantries, while Laketon, IN partnered with FISH to distribute food to neighbors in need.

In Ohio, the Marietta North team volunteered at Daily Bread Kitchen, a partnership they’ve built over the years, while Marietta South prepared and delivered 40 meal bags to the Athens County Developmental Disabilities Center.

In Tama, IA, Benton, IL and Mt. Vernon, IN, employees organized food drives for local organizations.

Our Warsaw, IN team fulfilled a wish list for The Beaman Home, providing pantry staples and cleaning supplies for survivors of domestic violence.
These efforts weren’t one-size-fits-all; they were tailored to the needs of each community, because real impact starts with listening and responding locally.
And our commitment doesn’t end after this successful annual week of service. AMI has built long-term relationships with organizations that make a difference year-round. One example is Coburn Place, a safe haven in Indianapolis, IN for survivors of domestic violence. For years, AMI has supported Coburn Place through initiatives like Angel Tree holiday gift donations, various supply drives and volunteering to offer support where it’s needed most. This year, AMI even donated a vehicle to ensure reliable transportation for survivors on their journeys to independence.

We’ve also hosted multiple Versiti blood drives, started a monthly reading session with a local school, and collected back-to-school supplies and diapers to make life easier for those around us. These efforts represent partnerships rooted in shared purpose: building up our communities.
Whether it’s packing food bags, donating resources or helping our community members rebuild, our teams have shown that when we come together, we can create meaningful change.
