Heritage Construction and Materials (HC+M) is celebrating Women in Construction Week to recognize the vital role women have in the construction industry. The event runs from March 5th to March 11th as part of efforts to boost female representation in construction. (1)

The construction industry has long been a male-dominated field but has seen a shift towards gender diversity in recent years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the amount of women in construction is at an all-time high and has been increasing since 2016. More women are pursuing careers in construction as well as other traditionally male-dominated fields. The celebration of Women in Construction Week highlights the need for continued efforts to lessen the disparity of gender representation.

HC+M has been working to address gender equality by promoting a supportive culture, providing equal opportunities for career advancement, and by investing in training and development programs. The benefits of a more diverse workforce in construction would lead to better outcomes for everyone including improved safety, productivity, creativity, and innovation.

This Women in Construction Week, HC+M is highlighting the accomplishments of its female employees. It is a time to acknowledge their contributions to the company and the industry as a whole. It is also an opportunity to encourage more women to pursue careers in construction and continue to break down barriers.

Thank you to all the women at HC+M for your resiliency, dedication, passion, and work-ethic you bring every day. You bring a diverse range of skills, experiences and viewpoints to the table which has enriched our work culture and helped us achieve our goals. Your professionalism, integrity, and teamwork have made a significant impact on our company, and we are grateful to have you as valuable members of our team.

Happy Women in Construction Week!
