At our annual Spring Kick Off meeting, Asphalt Materials, Inc. (AMI) team members from different all plant locations and departments across the Midwest came together to celebrate accomplishments from the previous year and share their plans for the year ahead.
Asphalt Materials, Inc. and J-Band along with Heritage Research Group Lab hosted an event for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Young Members Group on January 15, 2025. This event included a learning session titled, “Innovative Materials + Strategies for Pavement Preservation” with a guided tour and networking opportunities.
Sustainability is crucial for preserving our planet and natural resources. By building a sustainable future, we can reduce pollution and protect our people, planet and communities. That is why at Asphalt Materials, Inc. we promote sustainable practices at all our locations in the Midwest. At each of our locations, there is a sustainability champion who leads sustainability initiatives and educates employees on sustainable practices. Several champions have shared their current sustainable actions within their respective locations.
Each year, Asphalt Materials, Inc. (AMI) hosts a Kick-Off meeting in the spring. This gives all our employees the opportunity to share their wins from the past year and discuss their plans for the year ahead.
During this three-day meeting, AMI distributes Core Value Awards to several employees who have showcased our company values through their work. These values include keeping your eyes open for opportunity, betting on people, tackling the big problems, building long-term relationships and mutual trust, doing the right thing always, and creating enduring value. Joins us in congratulating this year’s Core Value Award recipients: Rebecca Rivers-Duncan, Bucky Brooks, Nick Martinelle, and Dan Robinson!
Asphalt Material’s Sales Representative Nate Jenkins and Heritage Research Group’s Senior Asphalt Research Chemist Campbell Higbie have joined the 2023-2024 LEAP Class. Nate Jenkins is a member of the Asphalt Materials, Inc. (AMI) sales team and has worked with the company since January 2014. Campbell began his career at The Heritage Group (THG) when he joined the Heritage Research Group (HRG) in March 2016 as a lab technician for the asphalt emulsion lab. In 2018, Higbie moved into a research and innovation role with HRG. This has allowed him to help AMI develop novel approaches in asphalt applications, specifically with emulsions.
August is National Traffic Awareness Month and a valuable reminder of the importance of traffic safety. Every day, thousands of people become victims of vehicle accidents including construction workers, pedestrians, drivers, and passengers. Such incidents can be prevented by paying attention to and following safety rules and guidelines.
