Tom Martin, a sales representative on the AMI Sales and Supply Team, was recently awarded the Honorary Lifetime Award by the Indiana Association of County Highway Engineers and Supervisors (IACHES).
About thirty years ago, Tom helped establish the organization while he served as the President of the County Engineers Association. His fellow honoree, Dick Robertson, was the President of the Highway Supervisors Association. After significant consideration and negotiation, the two associations were merged and IACHES was born. Above, pictured with Tom, is Stewart Kline, current President of the Association.
Today, IACHES defines its purpose to promote the efficient construction, maintenance and administration of public projects at the County level through cooperation and communication between County Highway Departments, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Contractors, Consultants and Vendors.
According to Tom, “It has grown into a strong and stable association with very few changes to the original association. I am proud of the association that I helped to form so many years ago.”
